We would like to establish a community of scientists and contemplatives, keen to explore the ways in which mindfulness could foster a more sustainable world

Introducing the 1st International Conference on Environmental Mindfulness

The 1st International Conference on Environmental Mindfulness (ICEM) aims to provide the opportunity for researchers and contemplatives to meet and share ideas on the subject of mindfulness and sustainable behaviors. We would like to bring together the community of environmental psychologists, mindfulness experts, and neuropsychological scientists interested in those crucial topics to draw the research agenda for the next years.

ICEM aims not only to define the state of the art of research about mindfulness and environmental science, but also to create a community of passionate scientists, environmentally conscious people, and human beings.

Thus, ICEM would be characterized by a set of unique features:

Establish and promote a new dialogue

One of our principal aims is to foster a dialogue between disciplines that have developed separately in the last decades. Contemplative science and environmental psychology have much to tell each other; we would like to create a channel between research fields and persons.

Daily meditations and practices

Each conference day will begin and end with a guided meditation on the themes of human-nature connectedness and environmental engagement, to foster awareness and biophilic empathy in attendees. The meditations will be guided by contemplative masters and mindfulness qualified teachers.

Present your work in Rome, follow us anywhere

The conference will be held in Rome, but we would like to involve people around the world who are interested in mindfulness, meditation, and sustainability. Then, even if presentations will be delivered in person only, attendees will be able to follow the conference remotely. And for a fair fee.
